The pay listed above is encompassing of a total range, final compensation offered will be dependent upon several factors to include but not limited to years of experience and education within the position and industry.

Scope of Work:

The Mechanical Engineer – Licensed will execute design and construction projects with focus on the project management activities related to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, project development, plumbing/pipe fitter, and project prioritization for Mechanical Engineering-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform oversite of new and existing facility related mechanical systems such as HVAC systems including, chillers, hot water systems, DDC and facility operating systems, site assessments and examinations, excavations, studying the purpose and goals of a project, developing plans and guidelines, monitoring the progress of operations,
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Resolving issues and concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Oversee the technical requirements in this contract including the facility engineering services requirements
  • Analyze corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance data to manage the activities.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design drawings and specifications.
  • Provide and prepare monthly and quarterly reports on the status of assigned activities.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineers shall be degreed to perform responsibilities associated with facilities maintenance, design, and construction.
  • Degree shall be a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) – Mechanical licensed by a U.S. state or Territory.
  • In-depth experience in mechanical engineering design and facilities maintenance.
  • Experience in direct digital controls, pneumatic controls, fire protection systems, all HVAC/R, and heating plant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in sustainable design, AutoCAD, large academic buildings, athletic facilities, water distribution systems, wastewater systems, and anti-terrorism/force protection is also preferred.
  • Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) required.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Must be capable of obtaining, and shall be responsible to use, a government-issued common access card (CAC).
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must be well organized with extremely good time management skills.
  • Must possess analytical abilities necessary to manage complex administrative, organizational, and contract matters.
  • Effective verbal and written communication (English) and must be able to read and understand the signs, signals, and operating instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently and interact well with others in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • All Contractor personnel shall be physically and medically qualified for performing the duties to which they are assigned to include lifting objects weighing 60 pounds.
  • Work may be performed in an outdoor setting with exposure all sorts of inclement weather.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
