Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position manages and oversees government-owned control systems—including networked, isolated, and standalone environments. This role requires expertise in building controls, system integration, networking, and cybersecurity. The engineer collaborates with government teams and contractors to ensure systems are secure, optimized, and fully operational. Certification and hands-on experience with control technologies are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain government-owned control systems (e.g., BCS, DDC, EMCS, SCADA, UCS) and emerging technologies.
- Support the design, integration, and cybersecurity compliance of Facility-Related Control Systems (FRCS), OT, and IT systems.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including IAVM compliance, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
- Manage system configurations, updates, and documentation in line with Government Configuration Management and cybersecurity guidance.
- Ensure proper training and certification for personnel working on systems like JCI METASYS.
- Coordinate with vendors/contractors for system integration, installation, and certification.
- Utilize and maintain SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and detection systems (e.g., IDS/IPS, YARA, Snort).
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs within defined response times.
- Support software/hardware updates and adjustments to control systems, ensuring safety, security, and compliance.
- Complete required training and follow all safety, security, and company protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- CompTIA Sec+ CE or a BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA components, embedded systems, and control technologies (e.g., PLCs, DCS, OT).
- Understanding of control system risks, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
- Experience securing control system protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, MODBUS, DNP3, PROFINET, GOOSE).
- Ability to design compensating security controls for non-compliant or legacy systems.
- Familiarity with performance and uptime requirements in control system environments.
- Skilled in identifying and analyzing abnormal system behavior based on mission-critical operations.
- Obtain and Maintain Operating System/Computing Environment (OS/CE) certificate of training, as dictated by Command CWF-PM.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
