This position is responsible for daily issue receipt of tools and stocking received tools.  Will issue and deliver tools to Maintenance personnel as needed; May perform minor repairs and servicing of tooling; Maintain calibration as necessary; Responsible for assisting and maintaining in a coordinated effort with the inspections for viable shelf-life system for the physical Tool Room area not to exclude the SDS right to know compliance center.  Requisitioning and acquiring new tooling, expendable shop supplies and some material requested by all maintenance departments including out-stations and line-maintenance; Ensures that all hazardous materials used in the tool room are stored and disposed of in accordance with the appropriate Policies and Procedures; Maintain the tool Room in a clean and orderly manner.  May drive company vehicles.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   On a continuous basis, sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; Make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; drive various-sized company vehicles; communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Warehouse environment and possible field delivery

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
 Prefer Two years of experience in tool room environment.  Building maintenance experience preferred. 
 
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 Knowledge of shipping/receiving functions stocking parts; inventory control and calibration requirements; Communication skills – verbal and written; basic computer skills
