Scope of Work:
Operate and maintain motor generators, power generators and back-up generators at remote locations and mountain tops throughout NAS Fallon Centroid Facilities & remote sites.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and service Power Generators at the unit, direct support and general support maintenance level
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, fueling, fluid checks, and overall functionality of power generating equipment at remote sites
- Perform direct support maintenance functions including replacing/overhauling major engine components, troubleshooting fuel, electrical or engine problems
- Must be able to read electrical schematic and perform technical inspections.
- responsibility for ordering and receiving service and replacement parts, coordinating generators and fuel tanks and inspecting and maintaining fuel tanks, and electrical wiring
- Routine travel to remote site facilities by vehicle and/or occasional helicopter travel to remote mountain top peaks
- Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Consistently produces quality products and service.
- Completes all training within required timeline.
- Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- at least 3 years of related experience
- High School Diploma required
- Primary Power Equipment training.
- Secondary power equipment (generators) training
- Electrical Safety training.
- Lightning surge suppression equipment training.
- Possess a valid state Driver’s License
- Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
