Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of the position is to operate the bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Assist passengers with baggage.
  • Collect tickets or cash fares.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Comply with local traffic regulations, and report delays or accidents.
  • Record cash receipts and ticket fares.
  • Make repairs or change tires as needed.
  • Inspect bus and check gas, oil, and water prior to departure.
  • Load or unload baggage or express checked by passengers in the baggage compartment.
  • Transport passengers between pick-up/drop-off points on-site.
  • Drive diesel or electric-powered transit buses to transport passengers over established city routes.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Consistently produces quality products and service. 
  • Completes all training within required timeline. 
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must obtain interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • One (1) year related Bus Operating experience.
  • Commercial Driver License Class B Preferred.
  • Must hold and maintain the state-required driver’s license to operate a company/customer vehicle.
  • Must be able to start as early as 5:30am, Monday through Friday.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team, or alone, and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Possess and demonstrate a courteous and positive attitude toward customers.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and operating instructions.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks
  • Must satisfactorily complete medical clearance requirements.
  • Must be able to work alternate shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • Must have endurance to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time
  • Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
