Scope of Work: The Bus Driver supports daily vehicle operations at a secure government-contracted facility. This position is responsible for the safe operation of GSA-leased vehicles to complete scheduled transportation tasks—including shuttle services, courier deliveries, and warehouse transfers—while ensuring full compliance with federal vehicle policies and site-specific procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a variety of GSA-leased vehicles to complete transportation tasks, including campus shuttle routes, package/document deliveries, and warehouse transfers.
  • Maintain accurate trip tickets, fuel logs, and other required documentation for all vehicle operations.
  • Follow all federal, state, and site-specific rules regarding vehicle safety, key control, fueling, and operation.
  • Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections; promptly report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Adhere to assigned schedules, routes, and delivery deadlines while maintaining professional conduct and customer service.
  • Utilize WEX fuel cards in accordance with policy and ensure accurate fuel documentation.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs or servicing as needed.
  • Track and manage vehicle keys, immediately reporting discrepancies or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and site staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional driving or bus operating experience.
  • Possess a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Experience operating passenger vans, box trucks, or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures and safe driving practices.
  • Must be able to support shifts between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM as required.
  • Basic computer or mobile device skills to accurately complete trip logs and reporting.
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
  • All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening including a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Duties require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing.
  • Ability to physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
