Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position is to support purchasing and procurement activities for a facilities maintenance and base operations support contract by sourcing materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to maintain daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Processes purchase requests for materials, equipment, supplies, and services in support of facilities maintenance and base operations activities.
- Reviews purchase requirements and determines the most appropriate products, materials, or vendors to meet operational needs.
- Obtains and evaluates quotes, pricing, delivery schedules, and product specifications from vendors and suppliers.
- Makes purchasing decisions involving product selection, substitutions, pricing comparisons, and best value determinations.
- Prepares and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and procurement procedures.
- Coordinates with site leadership, maintenance personnel, warehouse staff, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
- Tracks purchase orders, delivery status, backorders, and vendor performance to ensure continuity of operations.
- Resolves issues related to pricing discrepancies, damaged goods, incorrect shipments, or delayed deliveries.
- Maintains procurement records, vendor files, purchase histories, and supporting documentation in manual and automated systems.
- Supports inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels, identifying reorder needs, and helping prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Assists with sourcing hard-to-find materials, specialized maintenance supplies, and contract-specific equipment.
- Ensures purchases comply with contract requirements, budget limitations, company policies, and applicable procurement regulations.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three (3) or more years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience required.
- Experience supporting facilities maintenance, construction, warehouse, logistics, or base operations contracts preferred.
- Ability to analyze pricing, product specifications, vendor quotes, and delivery requirements to make sound purchasing decisions.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices, inventory control, and vendor management processes.
- Proficiency with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check or Top Secret government security clearance, if required for the position.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
