Scope of Work:
The Custodian is responsible for keeping offices, buildings and facilities in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include performing unscheduled activities, notifying management of the need for servicing, and additional cleaning.
Responsibilities:
- removing rubbish
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
- Gathers and empties trash to include trashcans in the close proximity of exterior main entrances
- Services, supplies and cleans restrooms
- Cleans and polishes furniture drinking fountain fixtures, windows, glass partitions and mirrors using appropriate cleaning products and sponges
- Dusting of office furniture, walls machines and equipment
- Mixes water and detergents in containers according to product specifications to prevent damage to floors, fixtures or furniture
- Spot clean or shampoo carpets, strip, seal, finish and polish floors
- Drives vehicles (Vans) for travel to various worksites
- May have to move equipment and supplies either manually or by using a hand truck
- Notifies leads and/or manager of need of any major equipment repairs or additions needed in custodial services
- Informs leads and/or manager of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Wash, dry and fold rags, towels, etc.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Consistently produces quality products and service.
- Completes all training within required timeline.
- Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Must possess the ability to work in a team, or alone, and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Possess and demonstrate a courteous and positive attitude toward customers.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and operating instructions.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completions of assigned tasks
- Must possess strong organizational skills and a strong ability to multi-task.
- Ability to use good judgment when making decisions within the scope of authority.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with others on the site.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow basic operating instructions.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completions of assigned tasks.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Must have knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- May require sitting, bending, stooping and stretching, and reaching above head level.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must hold and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
