Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide effective management and leadership necessary to accomplish facilities maintenance and repair actions in direct support of the Naval Base Guam BOS project site.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all activities and personnel within the respective Zone.
- Maintains inventory control and accountability of tools.
- Ensures preparation, accuracy, and completeness of required records.
- Provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction as needed.
- Assists with ordering resupply materials to maintain adequate inventory.
- Conducts quality reviews of work and related documentation.
- Communicates professionally, orally, and in writing with subordinates.
- Maintains high-quality standards in all maintenance functions.
- Analyzes maintenance data for efficient management of maintenance efforts.
- Sets performance goals and deadlines aligned with company plans, mission, and vision.
- Organizes workflow to ensure a clear understanding of delegated tasks by employees.
- Monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching.
- Ensures submission of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Keeps leadership informed on maintenance and repair actions, making recommendations for efficiency.
- Contributes to high-level management status and planning meetings.
- Monitors overtime requirements and usage closely.
- Anticipates and promptly resolves operational problems.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities over a team.
- Interviews, hires, and trains new employees.
- Ensures adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.
- Undertakes disciplinary actions if needed and addresses complaints promptly.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Consistently produces quality products and service.
- Completes all training within required timeline.
- Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience possessing an extensive background in the field of facilities maintenance or service.
- Of the five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance, experience in a leadership position that included responsibility for assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts.
- Detailed knowledge of base operations support is preferred.
- Must possess the ability to identify and resolve issues, establish priorities, and achieve desired outcomes.
- Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to work independently and interact well with others in a team setting.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
