Pay: $17.89 per hour

Health & Welfare: $7.50 per hour (up to 40 hours per week)


Scope of Work: The Janitor is responsible for maintaining facilities in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition in support of operational and mission requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
  • Collect and dispose of trash, including waste near exterior main entrances.
  • Service, clean, and restock restroom facilities.
  • Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and drinking fountains.
  • Dust office furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
  • Mix water and cleaning agents according to manufacturer specifications to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Operate a company vehicle to travel between buildings within the facility.
  • Move equipment and supplies manually or using hand trucks as needed.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and materials in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety regulations.
  • Notify the Lead and/or Manager of any major repair or equipment needs related to cleaning and maintenance duties.

Requirements:

  • Prior custodial experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, occupational hazards, and standard safety procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a courteous, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and operating instructions.
  • Proven reliability and ability to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs while transporting janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to safely work on elevated platforms when required.
  • Ability to work on-call, alternate, or extended shifts as needed to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around potential hazards while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
