Scope of Work:
The Facilities Maintenance Laborer – Exterior Electric performs tasks which require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skills primarily in the Electric Shop.
Responsibilities:
- This Worker assists in general maintenance and minor repair tasks.
- Will be required to use I-Pads for identifying assets and the labeling of assets for the purpose of meeting Performance Work Statement (PWS), and Asset Tagging Requirements.
- Perform PWS required, lighting checks at multiple locations on Fort Carson.
- Perform PWS required mobile generator checks.
- Support the maintenance and repair of exterior lighting systems, traffic lights and intersection signage, pedestrian crossings, school zone flashers, and any exterior electrical issue that falls under the Exterior Electric shop.
- Will be working around but not on different equipment with voltages up to 480 volts with a qualified technician.
- Work as a ground person for other employees working in bucket trucks, and digger derrick trucks. This requires working in and around traffic safely, supporting the safety of the employee working in the bucket truck.
- Supporting Exterior Electric employees while operating different types of lifts which requires successfully completing T&H Services Lift Training Classes.
- Cleaning of the Exterior Electric Facilities and vehicles.
- Clean floors, walls and ceilings and picks up around the shop area walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School or Equivalent
- Minium of one year experience in facility laborer field/maintenance.
- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage.
- Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
