Scope of Work:
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on facility heavy equipment, including Cranes, Diesel Generators, Hydraulic Systems, and Power Distribution Systems. This position requires expertise in reading blueprints, using power tools, diagnosing mechanical failures, and conducting preventive maintenance on facility equipment and industrial machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various types of pumps, including centrifugal, diaphragm, submersible, and positive displacement pumps.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and alignment of roll-up doors, sectional doors, and dock levelers, ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, gearboxes, motors, and industrial machinery.
- Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic system failures and perform necessary repairs.
- Adjust, align, and replace belts, chains, pulleys, bearings, and shafts.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accurate repairs and installations.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, motors, and mechanical systems.
- Perform lubrication, cleaning, and component adjustments to improve efficiency and prevent failures.
- Replace worn or damaged parts to minimize downtime and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and parts inventory.
- Assist with welding, fabrication, and metalwork repairs as needed.
- Work collaboratively with electrical and mechanical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment
- Documents and records work order status.
- Complete all training within the required timeline.
- Consistently produces quality products and services.
- Perform all work safely and securely.
- Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US or a US territory.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Maintenance Technician.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, roll-up doors, conveyors, and industrial machinery.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, and gearboxes.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures using troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand, power, welding, and diagnostic tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited technical school.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Five years of experience in maintaining power production equipment.
- Must be able to read electrical schematics and perform technical inspections.
- Ability to work assigned schedule.
- Data entry skills and accuracy utilizing various databases/software required.
- Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, constant use of sight abilities, constant use of hearing/speech abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May involve work in different environments (shop or other facility) that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, exposure to wet; humid conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock; exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Routinely lifts 15-25 pounds, occasionally lifts in excess of 45 pounds. May require climbing on structures, ladders, towers, and be properly trained in
- fall protection gear and procedures. Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.).
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer’s mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
