Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform shipping, receiving, and inventory support activities to ensure the accurate movement, tracking, and storage of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Receives, inspects, and processes incoming shipments to verify accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, and other shipping documents.
- Verifies that outgoing orders are complete and accurate by comparing items and quantities against shipping documents.
- Ensures materials are properly packaged, labeled, documented, and prepared for shipment.
- Loads and unloads shipments, materials, and supplies from trucks or other transport vehicles.
- Identifies, documents, and reports damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
- Maintains shipping, receiving, and inventory records within manual and automated systems.
- Ensures materials and equipment are routed to the appropriate departments, work sites, or storage locations.
- Assists with inventory counts, stock organization, and warehouse housekeeping activities.
- Coordinates with internal departments, vendors, and carriers regarding shipping and receiving matters.
- May direct or coordinate the work of other personnel involved in shipping and receiving activities.
- Follows established procedures, safety requirements, and material handling practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, invoices, manifests, and bills of lading.
- Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex discrepancies and errors with minimal guidance.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check or Top Secret government security clearance, if required for the position.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
