Pay Rate: $19.99/hour ($20.99/hour effective 10/1/2025)
Health & Welfare: $7.00 up to 40 hours per week to be used toward benefit premiums ($8.00/hour up to 40 hours per week to be used toward benefit premiums effective 10/1/2025)
Shift Assignments are at the discretion of site management:
- 1st shift will be paid the base hourly rate.
- 2nd shift will be paid the base hourly rate of $19.99 per hour plus a 5% shift differential.
- 3rd shift will be paid the base hourly rate of $19.99 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.

Scope of Work:
The Tractor Operator drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, pull out objects embedded in ground, or pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Fastens attachments such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers (over 2000 lbs.), backhoes, seeders, and disc harrows to tractor.
- Adjusts equipment for proper operation.
- Lubricates and makes minor repairs to tractor and attachments such as tightening bolts, and replacing washers, cotter pins, and screws.
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles, such as 4 wheel-drive tractors, zero turn mowers, street sweeping equipment, backhoes, skid loaders, fork trucks, dump trucks, snow plowing equipment, etc.
- Tow equipment such as rotary mowers, grader bar, sprayers, fertilizer- spreaders, etc.
- Operates farm-type tractors and towed or attached equipment to maintain grounds and road medians.
- Frequently operates towed or attached equipment from the seat of the tractor through hydraulic or mechanical controls. Examples of equipment operated at this level are mowers, aerators, plows, harrows, chippers, sprayers, disks, post hole diggers, front-end loading devices, and movable dozer blades.
- Perform preventive maintenance on grounds maintenance equipment such as filter and fluid replacement, maintaining lubrication schedules, spark plug replacement, belt and mower deck adjustments, mower blade sharpening and balancing, and equipment cleaning.
- Operate various types of grounds maintenance equipment such as jack hammers, weed eaters, powered wheelbarrows, motorized man lifts, post-hole diggers, etc.
- Prune trees and shrubbery with hand tools, hedge trimmers and chainsaw.
- Couple equipment to the tractor and make required adjustments during operation.
- Complete daily equipment inspection sheets or manufacturers required maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to start,
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year successful experience safely driving industrial or commercial tractors.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow basic operating instructions.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completions of assigned tasks
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must have knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
