Scope of Work:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of medium-duty trucks to transport materials, equipment, or personnel between various locations such as warehouses, job sites, and customer locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate medium-duty trucks to deliver or transport materials, tools, merchandise, or workers between designated locations.
  • Load and unload trucks safely, with or without assistance, ensuring proper load distribution and securement.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance to ensure the truck remains in safe working condition.
  • Monitor and report vehicle performance issues and coordinate minor mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Maintain delivery logs, mileage records, fuel usage, and cargo documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and local safety and traffic regulations during transport operations.
  • Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors to receive instructions and report delays or issues.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderly condition of the truck and cargo area.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with clients, vendors, or site personnel.
  • Support loading dock, warehouse, or site operations when not driving, as assigned.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience operating medium-duty trucks, performing local deliveries or transport, conducting vehicle inspections, and handling routine loading/unloading tasks in a warehouse, construction, facilities, or logistics environment.
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class (typically Class C); A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on the type and weight classification of the truck assigned.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, and unload cargo manually or using basic equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, lift gates).
  • Familiarity with local traffic laws, basic vehicle maintenance, and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine inspections and minor truck maintenance (e.g., fluid checks, tire pressure).
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check, if required for the position.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.   
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.

All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
